Spectral is not the only new bike presented by Canyon for the 2014 catalog. The new all mountain / enduro basis is a real buzz-maker (this week-end, people discovered the Spectral of Fabien Barel for the Transprovence) but there is a bike that is quite important for the brand : The Nerve.
For 2014, , the Nerve (in alloy) is available in two settings :
> AL 29 – 29er with 110mn of suspension travel (front / rear)
> AL – the one you can watch here – based on 650B wheels and working on a 120mn suspension setting.

You think it looks like the Spectral ?
And you’re right. Those two new models represents the new design created by Canyon – less massive but more agressive than the old Never. The 9.0 will be on the top of the range – beside the innovation of the brand (new Canyon thru-axle system and the integrated derailleur hanger), the other signature of Canyon is a great value for money regarding the components : XTR for the drivetrain, Fox suspensions, and DT Swiss Spline One XM 1501 wheels..
The linkage is very compact and ultra-worked as you can see in its internal faces. The marking of the travel is now a tradition @Canyon and is useful to recognize each bike.
The cockpit is clean even if it’s not as sexy as the one we saw on others bikes – we think about the renthal combo on some Spectral, Strive and Torque. New CTD controler from Fox is also missing – maybe a pre-series adjustment.
Canyon has really scored minds with its latest carbon frames (nerve CF, Lux CF) and proved to the world that technology and innovation are in the DNA of the brand. Next step : doing the same thing with the new alloy frames !
