We received last week end on our website admin a flow of great pictures of a 2014 Canyon Torque from Hillsidecycling member. For once, quality of the picture is very good and can help riders to have a great overview of this Trailflow version – always good to see pictures of real life instead of catalog / studio photo shooting.
Here is the “official portrait”
The Canyon Torque EX Trailflow on pictures is pretty brand new – so we’ll concentrate our comments mainly on general talks about design & equipments.
The Canyon Torque EX is the second “biggest” mountainbike of the 2014 Canyon range, between the Torque DHX and the enduro bike Strive AL. The Trailflow version is also in the middle of the offer – with an agressive 2799€ price.
This model is available in two designs: raw / blue (Artict) and this sweet black / red edition called Evil Black.
170mn of travel front – 180mn rear.. a FR bicycle with some abilities when it’s time to uphill – this is the “Trailflow” promise.
RockShox Lyrik RC2DH 170 Taper + Cane Creek Double Barrel Air CS.
No needs to upgrade the suspensions right after purchase…
SRAM launched the X01 to offer a cheaper access to the 1×11 drivetrain but the difference of price is not so important as the promise. So the choice of Canyon to use X01 groupset is a small surprise but could be understood even so – and it’s not a shame since SRAM quality is here and colors fits well the frame designs..
Canyon bets on Renthal to equip its EX range and it seems a good idea. The combo Renthal Duo (stem) and fatbar (handlebar) is pretty appreciated by riders – many of them upgrade their bike with Renthal components. So such an offer on standard equipment looks like a great idea. Avid Elixir 7 Trail is a serious choice for the brake system (200mn front / 180mn rear for the rotors).
SUN Ringlé Charger Comp associated with a duo Maxxis – Maxxis Highroller II Kevlar EXO Super Tacky 2.5 / Minion DHF Kevlar EXO Super Tacky 2.5. Basically a “ready to shred” proposition.
