We met the new GT Force Carbon Pro 2013 during the last Roc D’Azur @Frejus – France.
GT mountain bike line up was presented on a nice exhibition stand, close to the beautiful Fury World Cup bike of Atherton.
But we made a stop in front of the 2013 evolution of the Force Carbon, which is the top of the GT Force line of products.
It’s a all mountain bike, with 150mn front suspension.
This bike gets instantly our attention because of its incredible look. I thought fashion of visible carbon braids was behind us but I was wrong.
Frame design is irresistible, all the mix of colors is really smart and coherent.
GT suspensions system is also very impressive. It offers a great design to the bike, and GT is confident on its technology. we find this interesting video which explains us how suspensions are working and how the Independent Drivetrain Technology developped by GT offers a good response.
There is one thing that scared us a little bit : what happens if this wonderful carbon link hurts something hard such a rock or a step ??
Our old demons regarding carbon reliability are still there.. even if we would get the same idea in front of an aluminium link.
It’s just because the heart of the suspension does not look well protected.
A beautiful frame without great components would not make any sense… so GT selects components on top :
Fox Racing Shox 32 Float 26 CTD FIT, a mix of shimano XT / XTR for the drivetrain, RaceFace components and a Easton EA70 XCT Wheelset…

GT Force Carbon Pro is definitively one of our favorite bike seen during the exhibition.

Très beau avec les fibres apparentes sous la peinture ! Et la Fox s’accorde vraiment bien avec les colories du cadre.
