Production Privée is a brand born in the country of Commencal and Cedric Gracia, Andorra.
Two guys coming from the mtb industry decided a day to create a new brand. The catalog includes a hardtail frame dedicated to enduro, the Shan, and also some components designed with the collaboration of CG Cedric Gracia (a part of the components are branded Racing Brigade, the mtb team of CG).
Key idea for the frame was to design a all-in-one frame, ready for an agressive program without being totally free of comfort… So keywords of the Shan are : versatile, steel – cromoly frame and enduro. Yes, enduro & free-ride is not only a practice for full suspension bikes.
In french language, we talk about endurigide (a mix between enduro and rigidity / stiffness)
How Production Privée talks about its Shan frame :
The SHAN, is one of the most advanced all mountain hardtail frame in cromoly that you can find on the market. As for all our products we didn?t want do any compromises. Every idea we thought to be good was applied to the frame, even if it was complicated or expensive.
The aim is to offer a very high end frame for the mountain but much cheaper than an high end full suspension frame. Moreover his versatile features allow to ride in all condition: all mountain, enduro, downhill, jumps ….with the same bike!
Designed to ride in all conditions and mostly in mountain, a key point of the frame is the vertical flexibility from the rear end. We developed and designed our own tubing with several technology to achieve an amazing confort. This frame is designed for a 150mm to 160mm front travel fork and for an agressive use.
The result is a very nice frame, with a great work on colours design.. impossible not to be attracted by the design.
First models were presented in the blue / yellow mix called Macaw and the more classic black / grey. It seems that some other coats were produced in limited series (we see some a white / red) edition on pinkbike.
Yesterday, a press release published on Pinkbike first revealed two new versions of Shan : the Shan 917 and the Shan of Hazzard.
Geometry of the frame do not change – pre order are open for first deliveries at the beginning of January.
Shan 917 wears the colours of Gulf, brand which sponsored a lot of cars in the seventies (and Steve Mc Queen Le Mans Porsche)
Production Privée knows well the expectations of riders – they know riders love customizing their bikes.. so stickers and decals are embedded – each customer will decide or not to stick the decals on the frame.. where they want.
