The rear part of the bike dont loose any thing and Bos has created a dedicated air spring damper for enduro / all-mountain practice, the Vip’R. The product is simple, a constant volume chamber, simple adjustments, rebound, rebound, compression and a three-position lever. True to its concept, without blocking system, but appropriate behavior in all phases of riding.
Out of the box
Again the overall design differs from the competitors. The body of the damper diameter is already significantly higher than other 2cm more or less. The immediate result is significantly increased lateral rigidity. But this fact brings makes operation much more linear, torsional strength increased and therefore a linear movement. The machining of parts is visible to the naked eye and inspires a feeling of quality and unique piece is appreciable. The finish is again impressive, a qualifier that applies completely to brand products. Moreover, even the presentation of the box and qualitative marketing technique inspired by a famous brand hit an apple. A bit like the rates policy and distribution.
The damper installed and the SAG set, the first impression made on our test platform is a sense of balance. You are aware that often speaks of the suspension agreement, much like a musical instrument. Here, this principle is particularly sensitive. Depreciation is again assigned to the hydraulic damper, not to the pneumatic spring. It’s result, the damping curve seems much more linear and therefore provides linear operation and therefore constant. This results in a rear glued to the ground, providing traction while maintaining a significant depreciation permanent faculty. The multi positions lever provide operation and very distinct and identifiable behavior very quickly. [To be continued]
